Summer Baseball Is Back!!

WYB Summer 2021 Colt/Palomino Online Registration Is Open!

  • Colt registration closes April 5th - The season fee is $170 (Pays for league entry fee and insurance, baseballs, 2-umpire fees for all home games, a hat and a  shirt)

  • Palomino registration closes April 5th - The season fee is $185 (Pays for league entry fee and insurance, baseballs, 2-umpire fees for all home games, a hat and a shirt)

  • You can find the register link at the top RH corner of the home page on the WYB website www.washyouthbaseball.com

The closing dates are earlier than in years past, because the leagues we are playing in have to set their schedules by mid April to reserve fields for the season.

The Colt 15-16 age players will play in the Chartiers Valley Colt League that will have 14-16 teams.

The 17-18 age players will play in the S. West PA Palomino League that will have 8-10 teams.

Play for both leagues will begin the 3rd week of May after the WPIAL season and ends around the 3rd week of July. Players participating in the WPIAL post season will be accommodated to the best of each teams ability.

Games will be scheduled Monday - Thursday to accommodate players on local travel programs.

Each league member team will have their own home field which will require some local travel primarily this side of the Ohio river. Each team will get an opportunity to play a game at the Wild Things Field.

Both leagues will have 2-3 zones and each team will play a 16 game season or 2 games per week for 8 weeks.

The teams in your zone are played 2 times first and then the remaining schedule is played against teams from the other zone.

When regular season play ends there will be a zone playoff and the champions will compete in the league tournament held at the Wild Things Field.

Each league President would like to send All-Star Teams to PONY Baseball International sanctioned tournaments in late July and early August, winners going the World Series qualifiers.

There may be additional options to play in tournaments before sanction play.

More details will be available after the league scheduling meetings in early April.

Notable teams in the Colt League: Upper St Clair, Mt Lebanon, West Allegheny, Montour, Keystone Oaks, Moon

Notable teams in the Palomino League: N. Allegheny, N. Hills, Pine Richland, Seneca Valley, Canonsburg

The Washington area hasn’t had a strong Summer baseball presence for a few years. My hope is to provide a quality program for high school players to continue developing their skills against other top Summer programs in S W PA
