Washington Pennsylvania, Home of the Pony World Series!

Pony

Congratulations to Ace Sporting Goods on winning the Pony Championship!

WYB Pony Baseball is designed to serve the youth of our communities from the ages of 13 and 14 who wish to play REAL BASEBALL. WYB is a non-profit organization which is operated by people who volunteer their time. Our financial support comes entirely from registration fees, donations, league fund raisers and team sponsorships.

The vision of WYB Pony Baseball is to establish a strong organization which provides the high quality Pony Baseball experience for the youth in our communities. If you share our vision and want to help make it become real, we invite you to become an active participant in our program as a Player, Coach, Supportive Parent and/or Team Sponsor.

Washington Youth Baseball is part of PONY Baseball Association ("Protect Our Nations Youth"). WYB seeks to provide a youth baseball league that will help young people grow into healthier and happier adults and to teach baseball to the youth of our community keeping in mind the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage. The attainment of exceptional skill or the winning of games shall be secondary to the primary goal of molding ethical individuals.

The lessons of teamwork and of sportsmanship in both victory and defeat are our primary focus because they are the more universal lessons - and they are lessons good for life for all players.

We participate to learn and enjoy the game of baseball, to make new friends, to have fun, to learn how to cooperate within a team sport, and even to learn how to accept failure and defeat.

Teams are formed in age-based divisions, practices begin in early April, and EVERYBODY IN PONY LEAGUE PLAYS REAL BASEBALL!

Steel Cleats are permitted for Pony division play.

PONY DIVISION – (ages 13-14)

Continues to introduce the maturing players to the complete game of baseball. The diamond is extended to 80 feet and the pitching mound is 54 feet (distances which are better suited to the players’ developing arms than the full 90 foot diamond).

The end of the regular season is the beginning of an opportunity for some of our players to play in post-season tournaments as all-stars. Anyone can be an All-Star Player.
